Sutera

Description: Excellently suited for combination with all kinds of bed and balcony plants. Consumer tip: Please note that temporary dryness of the root ball is in general poorly tolerated.
Potting: 10 - 12 cm pots; 50 - 30 plants/m²; weeks 4 - 10
15 - 25 cm hanging baskets (3 - 4 plants); 20 - 12 pcs./m²; weeks 1 - 6
Substrate: Simple substrate of type 2
pH 5 - 6
Fertilization: Moderately consumptive, application of 0.075 - 0.2 % complete fertilizer once or twice a week.
Have an eye on iron deficiency symptoms during cultivation. Should they occur, they can easily be remedied with conventional iron chelate fertilizers.
Temperature: Start at 16 - 18 °C, finish cultivation at 12 -16 °C.
Cool Morning and Dif improve the quality and plant build-up.
Cold cultivation is possible but poses the big danger of botrytis and extends the cultivation time.
Light: Full light, no shadow.
Flowering: From early in April depending on light conditions.
Growth regulators: The use of growth regulators, e.g. Regalis 0.25 % or Topflor 0.05 %, improves the quality.
Pinching: 1 to 2 weeks after potting or immediately in case of a suitable young plant size. Lopping or shaping is recommended in order to get a better plant build-up.
Diseases and pest: Botrytis, thrips, white fly; take hygienic measures!
Water balance is of importance; the plants must not stand too wet, danger of botrytis, damage to roots and irregular plant build-up are the consequences.
