Culture advice 02

pac® Angeleyes® [Pelargonium Crispum Hybrids]

Description: This series is of a compact growth, has tough, small leaves, and is rich-flowering. The varieties flower rich - even if not cooled - without any interruption through to the autumn. All varieties are suitable both for hanging basket and pot cultivation.
Potting: 11/12 cm pot; calendar weeks 52 to 9, one young plant per pot.
18 to 25 cm hanging baskets; calendar weeks 47 to 52, 3 plants per basket.
Substrate: Loose substrate (with increased white peat portion); pH 5.8 – 6.0
Fertilization: Slightly N-accentuated; do not fertilize, or minimally only, during the cooling phase.
Fertilization after the cooling phase.

N 180 – 230 mg/l
P 130 – 200 mg/l
K 250 – 350 mg/l
EC 1.0 - 1.2 mS

Have an eye on iron deficiency symptoms during cultivation. Should they occur, they can easily be remedied with conventional iron chelate fertilizers.
Temperature: Start with a higher temperature (16°C to 18 °C for 2 weeks), temperature lowering by 4 °C possible after 10 to 14 days. pac® Angeleyes® need not be cooled, but cool and dry conditions promote a good plant build-up.
Flowering: Starts at end of April depending on light conditions (if no extra light is used).
Growth regulators: Should be applied in warm, low-light spring periods,
max. 2 x; Cycocel 720: 0.1 to 0.15 %.
Take into account the compressive effect when TILT 0.05% is applied as a fungicide.
Pinching: Pinching is not absolutely necessary. However, if branching is not satisfactory, some trimming or shaping is recommended. To get a better plant build-up, pinch 1 to 2 weeks after potting or immediately in case of a suitable young plant size.
Diseases and pest: Botrytis, white fly; observe hygienic measures!
Water balance is of importance; the plants must not stand too wet, danger of botrytis, damage to roots and irregular plant build-up are the consequences.
