| Description: | The varieties of the Daisy Crazy® series are well branching, compact pot marguerites which are characterized by bright, clear colours. The final customer should be informed on the not insignificant watering and fertilization requirements. Old flowers should be removed. |
|---|---|
| Potting: | 11 / 12 cm pot, calendar weeks 4 to 9 |
| Substrate: | Substrate of type 2 (with clay, pearlite or styromull portion), pH 5 - 6 |
| Fertilization: | Very consumptive; apply a balanced liquid fertilizer once a week (complete fertilizer, 0.2 - 0.3 %). Strong nutrition demand especially during bud development. Have an eye on iron deficiency symptoms during cultivation. Should they occur, they can easily be remedied with conventional iron chelate fertilizers. Temporary dryness of the root ball results in a yellowing of the foliage. |
| Temperature: | Approx. 18 to 20 °C after potting, then lower to 14 to 16 °C. Argyranthemum is suitable for cold cultivation to a limited degree only but reacts well to negative DIF or Cool Morning which keeps the plants more compact. Low temperatures promote flower induction. |
| Light: | Cultivate in full light, no shadow! |
| Flowering: | Starts in mid-April depending on light conditions (if no extra light is used). |
| Growth regulators: | Apply max. 2 x; Cycocel 720: 0.2 to 0.25 % or Topflor: 0.05 %. |
| Pinching: | Pinching one time is recommended in order to get a better plant build-up. 1 to 2 weeks after potting or immediately in case of a suitable young plant size. |
| Diseases and pest: | Downy mildew, botrytis, thrips, miner flies, plant lice; take hygienic measures! Water balance is of importance; the plants must not stand too wet, danger of botrytis, damage to roots and irregular plant build-up are the consequences. |
